Hi...
Been plastering for seven years... a job has come up to re render an extension about 35m2..
Just wondering if anyone could give me a guideline on quantities needed for materials?
Sand... is sharp sand best for both coats or is it better to use plasterers sand for the top coat? and how much.. would a tonne bag do it do you think?
Cement... any idea how much I'll need to cover 35m2
Lime.. how many bags and do I use it on both coats or just the top coat?
Also... They want a kind of pebble dash finish.. but its more like rough cast... needs to match old render..as its being blended in... probably need to have a play around with that really...
What's the best mix for doing that.. any ideas?

Be great if someone could answer all these questions so that I can get the price in and get cracking.. Nice one guys!

You have no idea what you're doing do you.

Do yourself and the client a favour and let someone else do it, maybe mix for them and learn that way.

In the off chance let's just roll with it, and give som legit advice! For that kind of area you'll need 6ton of ballast 30 cement, 10 litres of frostproofer, and 20 litres of pva, 15 sheets of eml? Now here's the technical bit, mix 8-1 ballast- cement wit 2 litres frostproofer and water to nice thick consistency, pva the Walls then stick the eml to the pva when tacky, then throw the mix at the wall, it should grip to the eml, when firm rub up with a little water an a wronkltonk float! It will look mustard mate. All quantitys are approx only, you may have a little waste but not much:RpS_thumbup:

good advice that fatarm:RpS_thumbup:the ballast should match that roughcast a treat....you forgot to mention the titanium bell-end bead tho....

What no fairy liquid? Half a bottle per mix makes it spread like butter (and leaves your hands lovely and soft)
Also putting a sock on your hand to rub up is far better than a sponge. :RpS_thumbup:

Can't get the titanium ones anywhere mate, can get the copper beads, tho a bit pricey! And you have to use clit clips to fix them!! Murder!!:rolleyes)
