Water proofer and lime? Bit counter productive ain't it? Lime opens up the render so what's the point in waterproofer?
I don't use lime on externals just waterproofer. Use lime on internals unless its a damping job then we don't.
Waterproofer in the scatchcoat, to prevent to much suction when applying the top coat, also put a waterproof membrane around the property, better to use an integral waterproofer
Lime make the mix more workable. reduces cracking, and improves the colour, also it will create suction , if you are going to spray tryolean
