How did it come out dan?i have a big one coming up and want to spray the top coat but not sure on the heavier finish than by hand.the guy has said he wants a flat finish
We tried the smaller nozzle first. 8mm is it? It needed two passes really. But the finish i was impressed with. We had to move up a size though as had done side by hand and wanted the back to match. Looking at it there wasny much in it between the hand and spray. Im clearing the site weds. Ill take couple close up pics to show u.

Cant you spray the top coat and rub it up like in that vid of those Germans I recently posted?
I did give that a go at first but gave up as although if you stay close to areas just sprayed found myself not really needing to touch it much. More just a quick float on reveals to tidy internals up really

Why did you have to spray in 2 passes mate?

My thinking is...If the grain is smaller the flatter the finish.

Not really . You end up with more space between the grains
Why's it shite? Other than the basecoat has to be perfect

It's really hard to get it right. Twice more effort and the slightest mistake will lead to disaster. Also it covers less m2 compared to 1,5. On the other hand if you get it right is the best finish.

Agreed, the slightest mistake will show up. You need to be spot on with the base coat.

You should get more m2 out of a smaller grain size though

You can have two different finishes by using the same size grain, but different manufacturers . I found out the "not round crystals" are giving a better finish
