Roughcast rendering improvement

Hi there. Hope someone can give the guidance on how I can improve the appearance of my front of the house. Can I sand the roughcast rendering shows in the pic to make it smooth to look like normal plaster finish? The existing rendering is in very good condition and maintained well over the years but I want to change the appearance of the front. Changing the rendering is quite costly so I need some advice of changing it cost effectively. Thank for your advice in advance.

So you are after our advice to come up with cheaper methods than using our services that we rely on, good luck with that.

You could hack it all off then rebuild the outer skin of your house so it’s brickwork. What you have there is pea shingle in sand and cement thrown at the wall, so pretty much concrete, not that easy to rub down with a piece of sand paper. Just paint it.
