Rubbing hp12

Hello everyone,

Currently using hp12 on a job prior to thin coat finish. How are we rubbing up the hp12, poly float or sponge float?

aseen a lot of lads using spedskims to smooth the render off, wonder if that’s any good.

I tend to serrate then spat off, I’ve seen alot of rough hp12 prior to top coat and thinking to myself am I going abit over top finishing mine.

Do whatever gets it flattest I did one today ruled spat and sponged

Sponged when it’s on the turn with some water

get yourself a good stiff sponge float. sponge it when it's picked up a bit, refina do decent ones, soft one won't be much good.

Speedskim is alright in my opinion.

I use a marshalltown 1.2m spat. Goes on too thin for a proper rule but the spat shows low spots and rules off high spots so it works for me.

Flat. Designed for skim but too big and clumsy for skim in my opinion
