Hi folks,
Im currently building an ICF house, im familiar with acrylic and Monocouche render finish but id preder a sand and cement finish.
I was considering fixing a 12-14mm cement board onto the outside wall, then apply a few coats of tistle bond or rendagrip to it , then scud coat scratch coat and sand and cement finish.
What do ye reckon?
Bare in mind ive sand and cement finish plastered a smooth formed concrete wall 5 years ago and i only applied thislte bond, and then scud scratch and finish and no problems.

Just saw this, next thread down.

Seriously we are f**ked if this is the thought process on construction jobs in the country.

I’ve used both acrylic and monocouche, the first time with monocouche there came hairline cracks, had no problems with the acrylic, just not that durable, I can live with it but just thinking if there is a more durable render for it I’d love to know

For cement board you need an operative with experience of polymer thin coat systems, No SBR, no Sand and Cement.

Meeting halfway, can you not get the base coat you used?

And finish to the same texture?
