what distance away from building would you class as too close for roughcasting? Arguing with a scaffolder today who works for a roofing company we sub off. The scaffold is about 150/200mm back from wall and some bits are a nightmare to get to. We nearly had to redo a gable few months back for same company as once scaffold was dropped you could see where every lift and upright had been.

you need to have the scaffold a foot away from the wall. if not turn the scaffold board next to the wall back.

I told him I want two board hop ups on next one but he's refusing saying it's extra work. I've made it clear though if anything is to get redone he's paying for it.

He's not much of a scaffolder,12 to 14 inches is needed.I've seen houses wet dashed with the scaffold too close and when it's taken down it's easy to see where the bars were.

I get 9" usually and get 12" if I ask for it. There might be a bit of a safety problem with a big gap as you could fall down it. The scaff Co will then be liable.
