Anybody know the best way to seal internal bare brick.

Im sure i heard on a job once some giys sealing it with linseed oil or something, made the brick a warmer looking cooler too (if that makes sense.)

its a fireplace thats been cleaned, and re pointed and i want to seal it and give the brick a slightly darker red too them

any kind of brick/stone sealer will do. just dont put loads on or it will looks shiney and ****...........unless you want it shiney ?

Have used linseed oil before on floor bricks before on a old gaff, just thinned it out with a bit of white spirit first.
looked good, was just a bit tacky for a day or two but shouldn't be a problem with a fireplace though.
A proper stone sealer will obviously also do the trick, just bloody expensive for a poxy little tin !
