loking around 1.5-2hrs a set but the first coat is going on the next set before the final trowel of the last set if you now what i mean, was always taught better avin 4 -5 smaller sets rarther than 3 big sets a a day been doin it like this since day 1,worked with many spreads who put on big sets at a time end of the day you can do the same if not more plus you have the extra time for attention to detail, plus qaulity labourer

around 4-5 if i get out my bed on time last around 1.5-2 hrs i try not to do any more than 7 hours a day 8-)

ive been doing 11 bags in three sets and there taking 3- 3.5 hours each ..roughly 1hour and a half to get it on and hour and a half to trowel up ..........when it starts getting really dark and cold you tend to lay just two good sets on

i no what u mean start the next set before finishing the first one........ might have a go at that cheers

i just do 2 sets a day 4 hours a set start to finish. i mix up a bag and a half for 1'st coat then a bag for the second.....

i work on my own usually 3 but sometimes just 2 after bonding, pva, beading moving stuff which was suppose to be moved, going burger van ect. All depends how organised things are and if i have a packed lunch ;D

r u workin on ya own trowel cause it will take some gettin use of if you are ,what i used to call the mad half hour, first coat on next set, trowel up last set ,clean bucket tools, flatten off first coat, mix up for second coat get it on,flatten off clean bucket tools and relax, well for a bit anyway till the process starts again, just make sure youve got plenty of water at the ready for mixes if your on your own and it all preped up

2 sets a day will do me..... by the time ive done that it 5.00 o clock, if i did a third id be there till 9.00 ;D

2 sets for me also, maybe if i was more organised id get 3 in but hey im still learning and working on my todd 8-)

fair play flaz thats hardcore! the mad half hour more like the mad day i would say, might try it when i have some straight runs with not too many fiddly bits.

yep i used to run around also like a nutter,go for it mate, tell us how you get on using this way of putting your sets on,just dont over stretch yourself, better going for 4 ,15 meter sets ,than 3 20 mtr sets, see how it works,we do 4 20-25mtr sets per day 5 if its all preped and get a good start but thats me and a labourer which i think is just right nowadays

Likewise generally Nicksey, rarely do a set in under 3 hours but always do big sets. I have been known to put on two coats from the same mix if it's just a small area left at the end of the day....I'm not proud of it :-[ ;D

i try to do 34 a day if im all reped and stuff is out the way..i work on me own and i take 3hoursz a set ...im starting to slow down 2 a room every day and half.as i cant be assed 2 feel f**k all the time..

***3 sets***preped**keyboards f*ucked as wall as my spelling..its like the blind leading the blind

Normally 3 sets a day on my own on new and re-skims, although some old work where there is alot of prep I mite just get 2 done.
about 2.5 hour sets

I seen a spread do 3 reveals on day work and still look busy all day :o I dont seem to have the knack for day work by 3 im itching to go

90% of my works daywork mate ........ive had a nice bit of price lately and going back to daywork moneys gonna be depressing
have you finished the flats yet mate?

Not yet, done 4 started 5th on friday but there is only gonna be the communals left after as we gave 2 flats to my brother and the gang on the outside took one as well but they are on a deadline and got to hand it over by the 31st dec.

Likewise i've done this acouple of times but always had the top coat tearing when polishing, so don't do it as finish is pish, did you have problems too?

And guess whos on the gang outside? oddball ;D
quality  ;D..........say hello from me mate, i remember him talking about you now, do you put a trowel over youre render when youve finished sponging?

so it's float-trowel-sponge? .........what does the trowel do mate?........oddball says it looks nice :)

Try it mate it works a treat i was working with a spread that used this technique and even when the sun was shining on it, it looked mint so started doing it and you can get on it quicker with a sponge :)
