Think we got to remember plastering is only a F*****g job not a way of life and not a great one at that, so if your stuck ask away, the strongest will survive the tossers wont be here this time 6 months down the line. Just my opinion ;) ;)

plasterin is a way of life not just a job, 5 or 10 day plasterin courses are a good way of blaggin muppets out of a few pennies and an ovalo based on a segment is a lovely profile ;)

I agree you wont get much done on a 5-10 day course. I did the 6 week course and that was pretty intensive, at £2500 it was expensive. But it got me a qualification and im doing great thanks. It is about the person and how badly they want to succeed. I got two kids and a mortgage so i had to get it done and work hard. Im self employed now and doing great thanks.

Dont see what the issue is really boys plastering is plastering, we are all in the same boat as in we all started in the same position. Just those who wanted it are here and those who didnt arent.

Its quite sad listening to some of the comments but its easy to hide in a forum and stir things around. To those who do like a bit of stirring, i got the kettle on, come make my tea, one sugar and stir it till i say its stop :)

glad your doin well mart, £2500 is a few quid to fork out but if the course was good and you learnt a lot fair play. Your right it is about the person and wether your willing to suceed and put in the hours and willing to listen and can take a bit of banter. 5 and 10 day courses are alright if you wanna do a bit around your own house but forget about setting up on your own, getting a van sign it up, give out a few cards and away you go, because the chances of turning up on a job and skimming one sheet of plasterboard with no angles is slim. Its very difficult in the current climate so a word of warning is all im giving its not a dig at anyone just a warning :)
