This is another post about SBR I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure a lot of people are using SBR in the wrong way. I was on a job a while back and the plasterer who's job it was insisted on me using the SBR over his sand and cement before I skimmed it.
Before they skimmed it?I've seen a few put a sbr/cement mix on then render the next day
This would be my choice also. SBR is a good product but but needs to used correctly at least with the rendaid it is more straight forward.i would use rendaid with a good scratch to build up a key.
Exactly and it's not PVA
I did look at that. Costly by looks of.it and ive got to match the same on otherwallsHave you tried their own render system- 2 and 3 coats. I had similar job and was looking at their systems. Never happened tho, so I can't give you feedback unfortunately.
Blue rubbery more than cementIs it a cement tanking or more of a rubberised coating?

Yep, that was the reason the job failed out! The customer wanted Wetherby adhesive and silicon top coat- cheaper , but I couldn't risk it and told him to find someone else. The job was at the back of the house, yours is a garage wit a door that creates a lot of vibes and banging, so whatever you decide to do must be spot on.I did look at that.
