Skim over Artex query

Let's skim it - hope the artex doesn't fall off or the board crumble, if it does cut it out and patch it, wait for the rest of the PVA to dry, then skim it, hope for no other problems, possibly have to stain block it afterwards. OR could go to all the hassel of putting one bit of board up and do a proper job
 
If going for the chance option
Allow first pva to dry properly.
Trowel as little and lightly as possible , the moisture from skim can travel through by the time your trowelling up and the artex can delaminate
Get customer to paint with Zinn after
Decent vent fan ( need a decent gap under door ) and check insulation above
