Skim painted ceiling

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a property. Ceilings show quite a few cracks mainly between plasterboard. Photo 1 shows I think that someone has attempted to fill the cracks with some type of flexible filler, I think there has then been movement and it is squidged out? Question is does it look like this can be fixed without taking ceilings down and starting again? Can you tape up cracks and skim over painted ceilings?

If your buying the property to sell on, just leave it until the week before viewing then just paint it. Just make sure to keep a pair of running shoes at hand when wee Dominic littlewood comes looking ya lol.

All jokes aside, I'd reboard it and skim.

Skimmed worse cracks than that with render mesh embedded in and no had any problems.

Fair play to you. I'm still recovering from the last lath and plaster I pulled down, literally dream about it still.
