Skimming cracking

pulled door and casing out boarded it taped all joints .skimmed it feathered it in customer has said its cracking down one side where the new board meets the old wall what has gone wrong

Fewk knows. Hard to say without more info. Pics of job process would be good.
Did you take a door and frame out and boarded over the entrance and skimmed it
 
Too much suction no doubt from the existing backing .nothing easyfil won't cure imo

i was thinking this, the only time I remember this happening to me was when I hadn't been going long and I did some proper s**t stud work, I'm laughing thinking about it, I got the wood from my mum's chicken coop prob had bird s**t on it too, yummy walls! :LOL:
 
Micky you always putting this sort of stuff up it, it's going wrong cos you don't know what your doing
 
If the structure 'moves " then no matter what plastering method you employ you are f**k*d end of

Solid wall with stud fill? Difference in heat expansion caused cracks. Block up is best to fill in but costs more. If it's a stud wall and stud infill then you need timber on all board edges and screw so no movement
