Me and me matey where doin a reskim on a rental house i own today. Two reception rooms. My mate was in front room and i was in back room. Striaght forward glue and reskim. I gave the walls 3 coats of pva as the walls where dry and my mate did the same.

He jumped pretty much striaght onto his wall whilst the pva was quite wet. the gear stayed on wall and the finish was fine but was wondering are there any issues if you plaster onto a wall if the pva is still a bit wet rather than tacky??

Not worried about comebacks as its my house but i want to know for future??

On a second note we both used brand new plastic trowels today straight out the box. ******* scratches everywhere. They need a rub with wire wool/wet and dry before you use for the first time em lads.

Also the house is getting the usual magnolia and white landlords colour scheme. Do you lads thinks it worth spending more on better emulsion? Last cheap s**t i bought i had to give the walls about 4 coats after the mist one.

I'll never buy cheap paint again. The small price difference just doesn't balance out all the extra labour + I fecking hate decorating.

as above get a quality paint makes life so much easier i also hate decorateing with a passion so the least time spent on it the better.
also on the pva front sometimes if im up against it time wise and the glue isnt goin off ill skim onto it whilst wet and only had a problem twice with it slipping but was easily fixed, but itll depend on what your skimming onto

windy, depending on suction background next time you skim on wet pva ,you might find yourself as i have done and watch it slide down the wall ,i never skim on tacky or wet pva now, i always now give wall 2 coats wickes pva the day before, never a problem, just try it on your next skimming job, even if it is just a small area.

Why would you bother giving it 3 pva costs? Just a waste of time. I usually only give one unless its a wall of very high suction. Even then I'm reluctant to give it another coat.

yup only 1 coat of pva and wait till dry . iv had it slid on me b4 its murder 2 sort even had the pva bleeding throo the multi and that was murder 2 sort so always wait now.
