Skimming over artex.

Have done more artex ceilings than I care to remember.
Always the scrape and pva method but I was wondering if anyone has ever used a drywall sander with extractor to flatten first. I'm thinking it's got to be healthier and cleaner if not quicker as well.

If the ceiling is in good nick PVA, bond it then skim it. Like to get it nice and flat, cover all the peaks.

Seen lads just putting a few coats of multi on, always peaks here and there pointing through looks rough.

I charge the same to bond and skim as to board and skim, obviusly materials are cheaper bonding (only slightly) but takes almost the same amount of time! Some customers believe it or not don't want to spend the extra £60 in Mats!

Both but it is advised on bags not to on texture compound with no paint ....most jobs I am on about are painted artex fat armfat arm
Does it not suck like a ten bob whore on the bare artex?...
Ive not used mark 2 unifinish...had 2 bags of mark 1 unifinish for free to trial.....but thankfully reading about the disasters on here from some of the guys who had already used it...I just binned it:RpS_thumbdn:.so ive still never used it..lol..still dont think id trust it? Especially on bare artex, and the like:RpS_unsure:
