speed skim

If your still thinking about it..... using a 1200ST to flatten and a 900SF to finish I have finally managed to finish with just speedskims, only time a trowel touched it was putting it on and in the top corners.

If you really want to use them then they can work...... can't wait till the blade wears in a little.

That 2nd ceiling doesnt look like regs size (2.4m) As for the boards, are you just screwing them to the ceiling then battening them?

Not understanding you hail.
There no boards on pics just insulation, (still 8x4's though)
On this it's 60 mm insulation battened then boarded

Theres wiser eating grass lol. Why not just use your trowel lol

You see young man; plastering is very much like making love to a fine woman, sometimes your tool won't fit (many situations can be too big or ((please don't take offence)) or too small, this is when the more experienced lovemaker will improvise and use a customised tool that perfectly fits

Skimming a ceiling with 54 boards on it next Monday, 3 of us will throw it on and I'll finish it of the floor start to finish with speedskim. Blueblade then steel.
Great bit of kit.

Sorry, I meant the insulation sheets. Are you screwing them up first then battening them?

Only need one screw with a disk on to hold a sheet up, insulation right across then too, taped joints and battened. It's quicker too.
No expert on it like, I'm just a monkey who does what he's asked
