All depends if your on day work or on price and if its all nice flat work or all the sh*t has been left
we all can do big hits if its nice flat walls
but found with most spreads ive work with the faster they are there work lacks quality but on the other hand i have come acrose a few that are very fast and good at there job,
i look at it like this if you earn a plasterers wage you should be happy with it!!dont worry about wot other spreads are getting there allways people out there who are earn better then you

Speed aint that important in my opinion, what counts is the quality of the work internal and external no matter what.
People will remember a job done well rather than a job done quickly, if it takes an extra hour to do it perfectly then so be it. :RpS_biggrin:

If I am working domestics, depends on what sort of job it is, more often than not big hits aren't always possible in a 2 bed semi skimming a box room, so just take it steady, get you price right and your fine. It's about quality not about how many empty bags you have at the end of a day. I'm more than capable of throwing out 100m a day given the opportunity, but i ain't gonna kill myself for a plasteres wage, i still wanna be fit and healthy in 20 years time. Take what most people say they are doing with a pinch of salt.

Thats the thing, its not difficult laying on huge areas at a time, I know for a fact I can lay on as quick as any body, BUT I ******* hate it, and wouldnt wanna do that all day every day! I enjoy my job when I do two small-medium sets a day, have time to sit down and have a cuppa between trowel ups, clear up and **** off home by 4!

Its time plasterers started dictating proper ******* money, electricians and plumbers do **** all all day for 2-250quid a day, so we should be able to do equally sod all for 150 thats for sure.

While there is no real requirement for plasterers to have any sort of qualification to do domestic work we are gonna be grafting our behinds off for ever more. There are far too many fly by night plasterers working for peanuts for my liking.

trouble is you cant dictate prices on site and if you refuse to work for the rates there is a line of spreads who will and to earn money have to graft like mad doing 3 sets a day
