Speedskim sf

Why didn't you like it? I've got the Nela Superflx 2 (14 inch) & like it a lot, but wanted to get a 18 inch as well an thought the plastic looked like it had potential?
I think it's down to how you use it and you have to be careful with them.
Especially around beads etc as they nic easy and you have to give them a bit of a tickle with wet n dry
I personally like them but can see why others don't

Same with the speedskim I can see how they could have potential I just can't get it to work right for me.

I also use the ox s*p*r*lex and think that's good too.
I often alternate between plazi and the ox as I think the both do the same job although you can apply more pressure with a s*p*r*lex than a plazi

Thanks for your opinion @reeves1985 . The plastic material did concern me over its longevity.
BTW, what makes you a 'top quality plasterer?'...lol
You'll get 3 months out of the blade if you look after it.
As for top quality plasterer I think you qualify if you can do more than skim a board? Don't you

As the response has been weak, can all the 'shite plasterers' now respond?
I have two plaziflexes, one with sponge one without, they used to get a bit of work until I found my new best friend, .....my nela mediflex.....I love, that trowel and coupled with my speedies, It makes my skimming almost pleasurable.

I think they do yes.
I didn't really want to buy another one
I've got 2 of the Refina midgets for the plazi that are redundant now as you can't get the blades obviously.
The delehedy handle doesn't look right to me feels a bit weird as well.

Mind you I got the delehedy free courtesy of @Pagey who couldn't get on with it. Which is why I've been using it.
I've been meaning to see if I could modify the Refina trowel to fit the blades but not got round to it.

I keep persevering with the speedskim when I can I just can't seem to get the hang of it
I've tried covers bent up slightly, corners normal. Tried it on wet gear and firmer gear.
I like the idea of it which is why it's not in the skip yet
You can get the blades for Refina including the new "spring back" or foam back which they arnt allowed to say.

The medi is same as the original refina s*p*r*lex. I have both so it's not like I'm favouring one over the other but must admit I grab the refina once I'm done using my trusty MT's

Another thing to note is the delehedy midget trowel is not stainless!
Just pulled my refina and delehedy ones out to look and the delehedy trowel is rusty as fook!

Considering that all the delehedy stuff is more expensive than the original refina you'd think we'll probably expect it to be stainless.
The Refina midgets goes in the holder but it's smaller in both directions (width and height) so slaps around.

The delehedy handle in general is well let's say wank at best.

A standard midget trowel more or less fits my midget trowel is about a mil to weider but even that's a mil or so shorted than three delehedy

Ive just Google it and there's a place called CBY Tools selling 14" for only £13.99 (y)
I looked on there mate Yeah agree good price until you add delivery!
Brings it in line with rest at about £19 a blade
But as you say it's refina one
Looks like original blue one if it's same one I looked at

TW wholesale.co.uk 14" £16.20 inc vat dunno regard postage?? You will have to shop around but at least you know you can get spare blades (y)

Postage £2.85
Really?
Where's that from?
Need to get one ordered I'm missing my refina handle lol!!

Just got a carbon finisher as well, it's just blackening off as we speak. Never used one before so going to see how sharp I can get it and how it finishes. Seems to be loads rave on about the finish from a carbon.

That's if I don't drop it first.
Plus it will teach me to keep my tools clean Haha

I thought the foam was just on 16" and over. I might be wrong.
No you can get them all with foam back.
The ones without the foam are a thicker plastic and more rigid.
I tried one and hated it works OK on backing gear but no good for finish in my opinion

Time was carbon was all we could get, then along came that "new fangled" stainless steel.
