Im not sure pal but ive seen @scottie5 work and he knows his stuff. He really rates them which has made me curious to try them myself? I only ever tried the grey cavity closer type blade and wanted tolaunch it in the skip as i thought it was bloody awful

I get on with the old ones. Got one free from Scott when he started up and it's still good. Just give the edge a smooth off every so often. I wonder what the difference is then? @anybody
 
The grey blade was only ever really good for 1 pass 2 if your timings were bang on.
Get the timing wrong and it ripped the skim up like a ploughed field.
First time I used it I fooked the timings up badly and nearly threw it in the skip.
Fast toward to the new blue blade I don't understand the science @Speedskim Scott maybe able to explain hower.

You can finish with either the blue st or The pink sf blades which are basically a giaint s*p*r*lex but personally I find with the pink I either have to drench the wall of put loads of pressure on it to stop the blade juddering, this is I think where maybe it might require some more breaking in, or at 1200mm it's just to long (like the spat I think 600-800mm) is more then enough to try and finish with.
 
I have a 1m eze spat and a 600mm eze spat i love them and never had a problem with them either?? Sometimes on a re skim i have to adjust my timings but on board work i find them great

These are definatly not just a tool for people who can't lay in neat or flat.
Anyone thinking that is missing the point of the speedy by a mile.
They also close hardwall/bonding ocr and sand and cement up really well, ( again your timings have to be right otherwise they do more harm then good).

It really was a question of timing with the grey blade Greg.
I told the old man these were the future then proceeded to massacre the set we'd just put on , with it while he just watched me laughing his tits off.
I nearly smashed the living bollox out of it in pure rage lol glad I persevered though.

Had the sameproblem with tearing and i was very annoyed (110m2 ceiling in onehit with big ben aka Spankysouthport) so i grabbed the eze spat and all was well. You do need to adjust the angle as you go along if you ask me

I presume you're referring to me.When you get flown round the world to do squash courts and finish your day at two with plenty of brews then I might take notice of you.

I am referring to you you idiot..wat sort of comment in saying I dnt know how to use a trowel properly because i use a speedskim or sumat..bet u use a podger aswell dont you

Bath and rake aswell.Knocks that horsehair and lime up lovely
 
@Kitchy did you use a small drop of water with the eze?
I find I have to, a spray bottle does the trick, if you use a s*p*r*lex ok I don't see why the eze should create a problem tbh. Once I've a ceiling on the trowel goes on the window sill until the next gauge when I'm on ceilings. I'm no masochist but I actually look forward to ceilings now, the bigger the better.
I wipe with 6ft speedskim,
1 or 2 wipes with 4ft as I feel I can control it better at this stage of the set, then finish with the eze 800.

Ye brush angle with water then bring it out..its sumat I'm going to stick to to try get used to because it will make life alot easier
