Done a splay wall today ,well walls either side of it,even after all the years in this game I think they are still one of the most awkward things to do correctly:-0
 
Well in 25 years iv yet to find a neater way of leaving splays maybe its down to whos on the end of it. Mine always look bang on

Got one but don't think that much of them ,ok to get u out of trouble, depending on quality of job,would rather work into a hard wall ,on splays anyway.
 
Just load the stock brush with water and lash it down the angle ,bobs your uncle pmsljust like what some of the lads on here do lol

To be honest, I once bought one online from refina, the edge of it was like a door hinge, I have not had one since, depends on the angle of the splay too.
 
You aint used the right one john the refina and the mt ones are shite the versa trowel is the best out there

Don't know leebo but I've just sent of for two brand new stainless steel 14 x 5s curry trowels from USA ,ahh can't wait till they arrive ,come to papa!!

never tried a curry trowel spreads,, your;ll have to let us know what they are like after you have used one for a while

What trowels are the by the way
 
we plaster splays a bit different, put all the splays on, hold a piece of 3mm plasterstop bead cut to size, hold bead in the correct position, cut a fine line into the plaster, and trowel up close to the cut line.

That's works fine ,and just keep checking with a feather edge ,won't go wrong
