I seen a guy on a job i was on last week spraying pva on the walls.
I laughed it off at first and thought it was a waste of time, but 5-10 minutes later hed pva d 4 beds an ensuite a b/room a h/s/landing.
Got chatting to him late in the day and he said hed been doing it like this for years.
Been thinking about it over the weekend and im gonna get one.
the one he was using looked just like those you see in the garden centre but he says he put a wider nozzle in his to stop blokages.
Anyone else here use a sprayer for pva ???????

It so much easier to apply, this guy was flying like the wind spraying with this cheap sprayer, very even coats also so youd probably use 50 % lees pva maybe more!!!!
I really wish id took it of him and had a go for 5 minutes on it.
These garden type sprayers are only what £20- £30 so ill by one and give it a go.

heard so many people complain about clogging i never bothered but i didnt know you could buy bigger nozzles for them garden sprayers? suppose you could just unscrew the nozzle and run it under the tap when your finished?
how did he get on round the windows and up to coving etc?

From what little i saw mate no problem,he was in full control of it right up to the edges no problem, without having ago myself it did look far more controllable than a roller.
For £25 ill give it ago if it dont work out ,ill just give it to the kids to smash to pieces !!!

let us know mate cos i could really use one that actually worked...
be great for the customers cat too , you know how cats always get in the way of everything... had to 'skunk' one the other week when i was painting a job out and it was after my sandwich ;D

yea lets us no...also while we are on it what is the Best water spray to have? iv always used the B&Q £6.50 ones they are good but iv found iv garn frew 4 in the last 2 months! some how they seem 2 stops holing the pressure and it all comes outa the top? any help would be good!

I use the cheap 99p b&q water sprayers i buy 5-6 @ a time as they dont last that long. But there much lighter than the pump ones.
Sounds like ur over pressurising it oasis.

also got an electric spray gun, comes with a air blower. used it to spray the garden fences and also pva, you can spray thicker pva in it as well . got it from screwfix. also used it to spray the protective peel away film on windows outside. Its all getting to wasy for labourers

I tried this years ago with a sprayer, the pva seemed to separate from the water, and as said above clogged up. But i'am sure it separates as it comes up the pipe, and all you get is water :-\ :D
