Do you need to water it down I bought some sandtex stabiliser and I'm sure it just said slap it on ?
thanks all for the replies btw

Spunky by far the best stabiliser I've ever used is the Jewson own brand masonry stabiliser. I know that's not from B&Q obviously but it is really good. Oh and if used don't try watering it down.

old geezer up the doors got his mate to skim a kitchen ceiling for him( his mate aint a plasterer but he's canny handy.....apparently) and its all blistered and looks shite so he's asked if ill reskim it for him. my question is...........will stabiliser be the stuff to use before PVAing and reskimming the ceiling to prevent it blistering again???

why was is blistering the first time around?

suppose it would work, the stuff is like a solvent it just melts in

make sure the skim will take the weight if its blisterd up it proberly isnt bonded to substrate properly

Yeah tells you to knock it down with water good stuff goes for miles, you'll need to PVA on top of it as it will kill the suction as well. Isn't the sandtex kit for priming new render prior to paint ?

Haven't a clue there's a few in there plasprime was one in there is that a bindit/stabiliser all in one?

Fk that, the least I would be doing would be having it all scraped off, betakontakt and re-skim. No guarantees either, ever. Overboard every time :RpS_thumbup:
