tanking

Well is the floor a suspended timber floor ?

If it is suspended make sure you have enough ventilation (airbricks) in the wall.

Sounds straight forward, i could do that with my eyes closed.

Just remember if there has been rot, make sure you treat it.

yeah suspended floor, straightforward enough, the chippy will be cutting/replacing and treating the rot nothing to do with me ;), I will be tanking where needed and skimming throughout.

cheers

Well once you do a couple you soon pick it up, make sure you do the corners right they are usually the weak point.
If it was a solid floor the wall to floor would need doing.

Make sure you paint on a slurry of sbr and cement before you render to get a key.

The amount i have done i must be half mole by now :flapper:

Don't forget the disposable suit its bloody desperate to get of the kecks.

Nice one bud! Will defo be getting a suit! Will the tanking be completely smooth? Any ratio for the slurry so long is its got a grain? Or render it as a bond as in when its still tacky?

Yeah the slurry is 50/50 sbr and cement

let the slurry go tacky basically render it 30mins or so after you slurry it.

The tanking is good stuff and smooth goes off like steel.

is it above ground, if so its one coat of tanking, if it is below ground 2 coats. We usually use grey for first coat and white for second coat a lot easier to tell if you miss a bit.

I prefer soverign myself, but kingfisher is ok.

Good luck with it, Tanking is a lot better than crap DPC injection.

p.s make sure when you mix the tanking to let it rest for 5 mins and rewhisk it before you apply it.
