Hi all.
we currently have a 58 bedroom 5 star hotel in the Scottish borders that is available immediately for tape and joint.

Roxburgh hotel and golf club TD5 8JZ

we are looking for a supply and fit company who are reliable and can resource the project adequately to keep to programme dates.
there are 3 floors to go at which includes thousands of metres.
payments are weekly after 2 weeks laying on period.
we can offer £5m2.
no retention-you will be paid in full for what you do.

I find it depressing that taping and jointing is gaining ground in this country. It'll probably end up being the death of proper plastering.

Everyone will have soft as sh1te houses with soft as sh1te interior walls to go with them :aburrido:

Different for roof spaces, perhaps - I'm mostly talking about walls that people brush past, on a daily basis - vulnerable to dings and dents.

*Also, no disrespect intended towards TonyM - your boarding is top class (y) My remarks are not aimed in your direction, just speaking generally about the way the industry seems to be creeping more and more towards the way the yanks and eastern Europeans do things.

Is there anything the yanks do that the UK doesn't end up eventually also doing?

I think taping is s**t mate. I wouldn’t have it in my house. As far as I’m concerned, it should be used on massive commercial projects, on jumbo walls etc, and that’s it. No matter how smooth it feels, shine a light across it and it looks like a baby did it.

I live in a jointed house and it looks ok for the 1st 6 months then all the joins start coming through :ROFLMAO: screw holes popping everywhere. Cheap tacky finish that isn’t even much quicker

All the new builds in Scotland are taped and filled. Piss poor
 
We might differ from the yanks a little bit to get the thermal standards but tape and skim is the direction for sure. I'm working on a SIPP panels house at the mo' - board and foam sandwich lego panels with plasterboard finish tacked on after inside. Think they are gong to skim it but may also be a tape job.

Went to cut a flue hole thru the roof and found a massive timber in the way - gonna cost them!
