Hi, anyone suffering from tennis elbow, I've got it in both arms had the injections which don't work, I can live with the left arm (hawk hand) but right arm killing me on the trowel, I've got the copper bracelets with magnets,
I would be grateful of some serous advice, Cheers

Nasty. Eat plenty of anti inflammatory foods like salmon, mackerel and sardines. Drink lots of water and avoid sugar as much as possible. And keep playing the lottery. All the best!

You could try Cyrotherapy. This is using cold and then heat to inflamed area. Put an Ice pack in a T-towel (to stop Ice burn), put this pack onto elbow the inflamed / painful area, raise the arm up higher than your chest, and leave like this for at least 12-20 Mins. Right after the 12 or 20 mins remove the ice pack, and then apply heat to this area.

You can buy a heat pack which is material with beans in it, and put this in the micro wave for 3 mins to get it hot. Anyway...apply the heat pack for same amount of time. Keep doing this every day after work for up to 1 hour and 1/2.

Applying Ice and heat will force blood to the inflamed area, therefore flushing out lactic acid, and help to reduce inflamtion in joints.
Other than the above: Your symptoms sound like an RSI a repetitive Strain Injury - so if the RSI is the cause, then it be best to rest the injury, and apply the Cyrotherapy.
Drugs might alleviate the pain - and reduce some swelling if the drugs are anti inflammatory - But will not get rid of the injury.
Other than all of this - perhaps best to seek out a Physiotherapist.
I hope injury gets better ASAP.

ive had tennis elbow/RSI (same thing) in both elbows over the past 10 years..worst of which was in my trowel arm..
doctors will only usually give you cortezone injections twice, and then if there giving you the right advice, they will tell you that rest/massage/anti inflam/and heat and ice will in time ease the discomfort..
but unfortunately its not always that easy to rest from the job you do every day.
mine was so severe that i couldnt pick up a glass of water without using both hands,it was extremely painfull.it extended through to my fingers and i was forced to rest.luckily i tile aswell so i managed to alternate my trade earnings in an attempt to rest up..
a good physio or osteopath will be more than helpfull in teaching you how to take care of it and to give you treatment for a few months to kick start the healing process.the massage is painful though, believe me..its worth it.
its the skimming that increases the damage, and it will only get more painful.
i wore a sports strap that i ordered through my physio, its worn on the forearm and velcroed snug..it issolates the movement of the muscles and reduces stress on the tendon that attatches them to your elbow,it works, but its down to you to make a decesion to rest and maybe diversify for a while in order to elongate your trade life..
it does get easier, but its something that you have to deal with..
try using spot boards instead of scooping from a bucket, come down a size in your finishing trowel too..both simple things that you would dismiss but they do help..

join a health plan if you can,if your like me and countless others in our job, injuries and time off is always a hastle..it pays to look after yourself.

huck

A lot of good advice given there, i have written loads on this try searching the archives all i would say is keep clear of the cortisone injections they can do more damage than good,i had surgery on one of mine 28 years ago still sweet as a nut.
