The 2013 Xmas Pool Competition lol i got stuck with one the god sqaud
 
was playing this morning and it was like the scene from trainspotting where begby was playin tommy doon the volley. i was playing "callin all pockets" and they were flying in. then i playing this afternoon and i was proper shite...............doon to zero i the scoring FFS....................:RpS_thumbdn:
 
Im playing in room 2 if anyone wants to check out my action........................:RpS_thumbup:

Right I think I'm gonna play it off in groups - like the Champions League, So with 13 players if I do 3 groups of 4 with a qualifier from each group and the 1 remaining player gets a bye into the last 4. Hmmmm............ :RpS_unsure:
 
you'll probably get a bye for the 1st round like last year Bubbs.........................:rolleyes)

Not had a single game yet I'm at the In laws today so will get the on the PC and warm up but that bye would come in handy but it's never my luck ;)

he's one of the big guns in the draw. he should be seeded. he beat me 5 - 0 yesterday. i wanna avoid him. maybe i'll get the bye ... :RpS_unsure:

Is it the same site as last year I haven't been able to get in it coz I'm on a phone and did I play you in in the semi last year?

And there ain't no byes, certainly not into the last 4 and an automatic prize :-0
I thought I would have got a bite from a few on that one :-(

What I'll do is make 4 groups (Group A,B,C, & D)
Each group will have 3 players in it except for Group D which will have 4 players making a total of 13 players.
This way all players will have a minimum of 2 matches rather than just a straight knockout as last years' comp was.

So the format for those drawn in Group A, B & C will be:
Player 1 v Player 2
Player 3 v Player 1
Player 2 v Player 3
The Group Winners will progress to the Semi-Final.

The format for Group D will be:
Player 1 v Player 2
Player 3 v Player 4
Player 1 v Player 3
Player 2 v Player 4
Player 1 v Player 4
Player 3 v Player 2
The Group Winner will progress to the Semi-Final.

All of these group matches will be best of 3 games (first to win 2).
I will make the draw for the groups tomorrow -or tonight if I get time/am still sober :RpS_unsure:

Depending how quickly we get through the group stages I will run the Semi-Final either as a knockout - matches best of 5 - or a group the same as Group D and then the top two will play a best of 7 Grand Final :RpS_thumbsup:
