Wee andy has decide to go off shore on the wind turbines so im looking for a new youngin. Rang 2 local colleges to ask if they had any decent youngins and its a negative ghost rider. Had 9 apprentices on and off over the past 12 months and only 1 managed to go 3 months the rest lasted 2 weeks tops.

i have always found that the most gifted apprentice plasterers are the least interested in completion of the course.
 
A feel for ya marra i have been trying to get a youngun for the last month without success. one of them i spoke to could not understand why i was laughing when he said he would need to be making £15 per hr

That's unreal
When I first started on forum and used to read threads about getting a descent apprentice I always used to think what the hell are they all moaning about (probably because I have never had one).
Just lately I really starting to see what everyone means.

If their mum or big sister isnt a milf ??? Its a no from me regard taking on a new apprentice
 
Been looking myself, problem is they come out with a diploma of plastering and want min of 120 a day and we all know what we are going to get for that and what with minimum wage a labourer wants a fair wack as well
 
I was on sun like 150 a week when I was learning till I started making money then my wage increased a little each year they must of bin deluded 120 a day

You get a cupboard skimmed out for that 8-4 if he finished quicker might picks up the broom too. Expectations are mad in my area, not sure if it's area dependant tho. Maybe just all of them wants footballer wage these days with little graft

You obviously taught him well marra. .... those wind turbines always look to be rendered a clean smooth white! Bet they only take well trained spreads to do that work. .. lol

Good luck on the hunt for a replacement!

Yeah but they must be getting told this,had one last year he had a diploma in plastering thought he had gone into narnia land as he come out the cupboard 3 hours later and had only done the ceiling and door frame wall.
The funny thing was he was telling the other labourer to clean up his mess, like he was berty big b*ll***s
 
I'd tell him he can have 120 a day when he's getting his own jobs in till then like it or lump it or f**k off to b&q with the rest of the has bin trades haha
 
My mate started at the bottom rank on the turbines. He's now level 7 and earning big money! It's definitely more of a career than plastering.
