The New Van

Looks nice
first point of contact , with new customers is your van
Tidy van tidy job !
Enjoy your new van

If the van you own and have paid a lot of money for is dirty, damaged, rough and looks like you don't care about it customers may take the view that your work is the same. They're also more inclined to wear a higher rate for someone that looks like they'll work neat and tidy and respect their home.

I know, bad choice of colour. I've got a thing for polishing cars/vans though. Bit weird I know
When I got my Sportline back in 2006, I cleaned it 7 times in the first 10 days. After a year or two, I preferred this look.

The New Van

Wait till you start using it as a skip.

Or as a bike transporter and camping gear mover. :D (y)

The New Van

Or just some shopping :estudioso:

Can you imagine what'll happen when someone buys that, presumably from a Police auction, and tries to drive through customs? The drug dogs would come running from all over the place.

I haven't got a car so it's both to me. I spend 2 hours a day in the van due to where my mrs wants to live and where all my work is.
Vans are changing, they aren't what they used to be. They've got as much tech as cars now and the likes of transporters and now transits are being used as cars in the Kombi versions.
Each to their own though fella (y)
I don't eat maccies anyway it's not fit for animals that shite :D

I'm only F*****g jealous pal!!!...

Mines been to the moon and back a typical tranny rusty as folk and bits and Bob's that don't work as in key fob, back door hydraulics etc etc etc

Yeah I guess it's horses for courses. It all depends on area, amount of people living there, type of houses, incomes etc etc.

I recently had a comment from a new builder I've worked for, he said "nicest, cleanest plasterers van I've seen in a long while.......hope the work is as good", I just gave him a wry grin, thinking "never judge a book by the cover".....hahaha

Did a good job though....

I know a plasterer that won a job at a big 5 bed new build detached house because his van was kept mint. The boss of the building company was shopping with his mrs and was admiring his van and called him and said do you want to come and look at this job.
It does make a difference.

If yours is a mk6 (2000-early 2006) the key fob is a simple £5 fix 95% of the time mate

My key fob dont work sometimes because the bits that hold the battery have come loose. I bash the fob on my knee as hard as I can and it works for about another week....happened when I was sleeping in the van and had a deadlock on the back doors, was locked in for about an hour before I worked out the knee bashing trick

"No no officer! I was bashing my key fob on my knee! It was dark when I parked up, I didn't know it was a school gate."
