I have job where the customer wants a bucket coat finish on his property.it has been painted so I will use either parinter or base coat followed by a silicone/acrylic finish.what do you think would be the est option for the base coat? Also is mesh needed over the whole job?the area is 450m2,and as allways they are on a tight budget!!!

450 m and tight budget don't go together.

you have covered yourself that way , and if they get another price ,just say is that meshed and pinned

Probably looking at £5000 in materials alone!
It's 450 metres, what do you expect, I'd walk away to be honest if there wishing to scrimp At this stage. Explain the other option of knocking it all off and add 2 grand to the estimate and see what they say.

If parex find you've done it and deviated from spec with parinter and there are any issues, your on your own.

They looking at 15 k plus for a job that size with a bucket coat. If youre charging Vat then by the time they paid for scaffold its 20k done properly. That must be some monster house if you look an average 3 bedder is bout 120m2.
Give em a labour only budget price on a few systems to stay with a chance and tell em the materials they want if its a top spec job or budget job.

Thanks for the replays chaps.i have emailed the guy to find out what paint he has used.i will then contact parex and try and get a spec out of them.to be honest there isn't a lot wrong there the substrate,a little tatty if anything.the guy had a marmorite system(thin coat)on his house 6 years back and to be fair made a good job of it so he wants the same finish.
It's a large hotel right on the beach.
I think people like the idea of having these jobs done without knowing the costs involved.

Parex will spec a base of parinter with monorex gf on top. Then topped with primer and dpr. Full mesh plus extra around windows/stress points

i was just wondering if they just gave you a spec over the phone or they have a local rep come to site to give you a heads up cos every job is different
I always think a rep turning up at a customers job ,makes you look like you don,t know what your doing :RpS_unsure:

But then how do you increase your knowledge of different jobs........................:RpS_wink:

Your on a forum with 5000 members ,if you said to me you need to see how a system works ,i would say come on site with me for a few days mate , if i can help i will ,IMO :RpS_wink:

and i would snap ya hand off with that offer keith if you were only up the doors or i was ever doon your way.................but can you see my point though?

Few days out to add a string to your bow , or a rep that is reading the system out of the book and has never even done the job , you tell me my friend

Point taken.........................:RpS_thumbup:

Fu@king smart arse..........................:RpS_sneaky:

Maybe i was naive to think the reps would have a scooby doo more than the guys on the ground......................:RpS_blushing:

Don,t get me wrong ,some i have meet are top of their game ,but few and far between , best rep are the ones that have worked the systems they sell

Another benefit i was thinking of would be if they did the spec you would have more of a back up if it went tits up .............:RpS_unsure:
