Thincoat peeling off

Does anyone know why this has happened?
The job was knock off, slurry , 2 layers base with mesh. Primer , topcoat .

It was done 2 years ago in June . It was warm and base was left to cure before primer. The base was rubbed up not troweled or spatted

Products were fassa
Slurry - s650
Base - ki7
Topcoat rx561

Could be water got in,

But done in june -hot- it could have been the base dried fast, rubbed up finish, turns fluffy and moving sand about. Then when primed over loose aggregate, doesn't consolidate it and leaves a skin over loose sand.

If there's any chance of that it pays to stabilise first - 2 hours and £30.




I've just repaired two £3m houses, matching next to each other. Albanians rendered them in Baumit I think. Customer said they were done on baking hot days and the sun is directly on the facades all day.
 
If there's a detail where there's excessive or continuous water, top coat will delaminate on ki7 even when spat finished,
We will just keep seeing fassa thin coat problem's

It's to soft it doesn't cure off hard enough, you only need the tiniest of detail where water will run off on to it or a screw hole, ki7 turns to s*** and the top coat will delaminate.
 
renderers are like mechanics. certian mechanics will only work on certian makes.

same with renderers. if you get a fail with a product people tend to jump ship.

if seen fails on a number of systems. some install error, some design fault and others bad luck (weather elements etc).

systems have been tested and majority have the bba and etag certs.

Its a tough trade and doesnt always go to plan

I thought we had done everything the way it should be done. Straight out of the fassa book. I’m going to get in contact with the rep

You won't get anywhere with the rep,
It will be put down to the render finishing detail around affected areas,
probably would have gone in those areas down the line, just a lot quicker with ki7,
There's a reason it's the cheapest render in the UK without a BBA cert.

Their fassarend brochure has bba on it. What product would you recommend for older properties were it needs full lime?
 
VPI bagged render is the best render I've ever used it's f**k**g lovely,
there bucket coat is horrible s**t

i havent used vpi.

there are so many products and systems out now.

you will find only a few "systems" will have bba certs. not alot of.product alone will have them. they will have the european tag which cant remember what.

We were using Johnstone’s on newer stuff and fassa on the lime builds. then Johnstone’s put prices up 20% so we fassa for all. Lovely stuff to use and work with.
