Hi all. Looking for advice on a job. Been asked to plaster a shop out which is currently tiles throughout. I'm thinking of thistle bondit over tiles then dot and dab 12.5mm board then skim. Just need to know if this is a safe option. Thankyou

ordinary pva wont cut it, you can get pva for tiles, cant remember which ones but the are some....odd to want to pva and then board, the multi purpose adhesive should hold it anyway, you could fix screws in it too for certain hold

If your going to board it screw lath over the tiles & into wall, screw board to lath, skim.

Why use thistle bond it or pva, you could Uni-finish straight over the tiles, it's only a shop :RpS_biggrin:

You can Gripfill the boards onto the tiles but like fatarm says how solid are the tiles fixed on!
I think I'd just get some labourers to knock the tiles off then just skim it with UN.......I mean pva & multi :RpS_thumbup:
