Those tricky little areas. . .

Try these skimble, life will never be the same:

Wilko Everyday Value Filling Blades Plastic x 3 at wilko.com knife

I know they're cheap, but they are the bees knees. They do all the tricky places. You can cut then down to the width you want. You can smooth the edges with wet and dry. They are like mini plazzies. They've changed my life. The tricky places are now a joy to do. They are also flexible. You can also do the mitres on a formed ceiling with them (or one of those thin circular rubber flanges that sanding disks sit on ) They are also safe to use around sockets, being plastic. Even where I can use the midget i'll still second coat and trowel up with these. If they made a really big one I'd do everything with it.

They look great :RpS_thumbup:

I normally just use a scraper, got a few different sizes. Bought some small tools; prefer a scraper

They work, Jess, trust me ..... :RpS_unsure:

You can also use them for scraping any plaster that's on window frames, glass etc.

They haven't changed my personal life per se, but have made things easier in the work enviroment.

I came across them last year. A customer had left them on a mantlepiece, still in the packet, and I just knew they were the ones. It was a revelation. When I got home I realised that I'd mistakenly taken them with me. I now view my life in terms of pre wilko filling blades and post wilko filling blades. If I had one gripe it would be that there wasn't a five or six inch one. But for a pound you can't really complain.

Before then I'd used finger trowels, small tool, and a little plastic safety sign with a picture of a man running out of a door.

saved up and bought one of these last week:

I was just about to start a thread about being ashamed of taking a tip from hillside, put into practice today for the first time.

Couldn't find anything to fit between architrave and after hunting in the back of the van for about 10 minutes, I was telling myself I wasn't going to take the tip from hillside.

Anyhow after admitting I had to, I opened the wallet to see a shiny costa coffee card, one of those where you buy 3000 coffee and get 1 free.

It was either that or a photo of out lass which was a bit floppy, (the card not out gurt, plus it's a good picture, she doesn't look like that anymore)

Anyhow, I used the costa card, worked a treat, I never thought I'd say it but......

Mr hillside, I salute you sir
