Hello,

Just wanted to get some opinions on this please.

Had my house monocouched and since I’ve had my outside lights put up i have noticed how bad the monocouche is on my gable end.
After inspecting the rest of my house which looks fine, I am really not happy with the finish on this section.
I have spoken to the contractor and he agrees it is not very good at all but is not forthcoming in sorting it out.
The subcontractors who done the work on his behalf are not at the company anymore but the company is still running.
Should he be footing the bill to sort this out or his subcontractors?

You sure the rest is OK? It's unlikely the same people who produced that on one wall could have randomly done a good job on the rest tbh. Put a straight edge on the wall and see if there are big hollows and raised bits all over. Lights are not renders friend, and it's unlikely it'll ever look perfect with a light shone down it, but they look substantial hollows to me
 
Looks like a golf ball surface - at least it will reduce wind resistance on your house in a windstorm

You can't touch the subbys they didn't work for you, there contract was with the builder,

On a serious note, that work is exceptionally bad and you should DEFINITELY threaten legal action if your contractor doesn't agree to have it redone at his/her expense. There is no way a time-served tradesman would do such appallingly shoddy work. It's only fair to give your contractor a chance to put it right, but I find it difficult to believe that the contractor didn't know his/her subbie wasn't experienced enough.

You can only sue if they have assets otherwise the whole process is a waste of time, most chances dont have a pot to piss in.
Just get references that you can speak too/ and or look at there previous projects. with rendering it’s easy, you don’t even need to go in houses.
