Cant stop getting these in my work its only recently too. Tiger stripes ive tried double coating using fresh finnish corect timing really frustrating Any ideas? Bad plaster, trowel, plasterboard like having the shanks at golf lol.
12 years plastering ready to hang trowel up!
why is the socket on the ceiling......................

I'm not wrong mate at all, you never mentioned 3 experienced spreads, you said you've been getting them bad for weeks, if you've been getting them for weeks why haven't you put them right as you go ? Its not the gear but the the person putting it on the wall.
I have been putting them right as I go but that doesn't get away from the fact that they are there in first place. There is no way 3 guys can be doing it wrong together then suddenly all be doing it right.

Yes using multi supplier doesnt get board so company use multi
Are you using multi finish? Worst stuff I've ever used! Cleaning the trowel after every 1 or 2 swipes with a shallow angle should prevent that nasty tiger from appearing [emoji33][/QUOT

Ive stopped having frosties for my breakie on the days im skimming and now my walls are tiger free and ggggggggrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeaaaaaatttttttt

I'd eat on than be one

is that what they are called?
As said , trowel too steep and more water and watch when you hit it.
I find i get them later in the process , usually on the 2nd trowel.
They are some size! maybe a smaller trowel and more weight and water with the trowel closed in more.

This might sound daft but try troweling up slowly as well. Rushing over it in my experience can cause it to ripple. Slow and easy wins every time. Plus you can finish it with one less trowel.

I got a couple :inocente:

Tiger stripes appearing more recently although skim is laid on and trowelled up in same way but same spreads with same MT trowels as always...
The only variable is the gear.
Other plasterer mates are complaining of the same problem.
The gear has obviously changed (multi)
Anyone got a link to the British Gypsum discussion?

Yes, not too bad though, when flattening, been coming out with next trowel easy enough, had them before where I couldn't get them out and end up feckin grinding them at the end of set, pain in the arse.

2nd coating to soon troweling to soon to wet? Wet troweling to soon? Fatty trowel. I don't no a proper spread never gets them ;) mine starts to roar.

To much fat on trowel. .ma spatula done it today. Cleaned it and all gd

Your right there, they do appear more often with fat on your trowel, but Jaysus, you can't clean your trowel every 10 seconds. Nor should you need to.
It's definetly something to do with moisture in general, too much pressure also does it, but feck me was never like this going back.

I still think its down to operator error rather than the gear... I had a phase of getting them and it was me being a dick... not cleaning tools and trying to rush the sets...

How can it be operator error Danny i get them now and again and i am the best plasterer in the world . i know this because my mum told me .:)
