TIMBER FRAME ON CAVITY WALL... CONTINUING RENDER

Hi There, First time poster but I’ve lurked before looking for information and technical advice (not all architects are clueless!)

I’m working on a project at the moment and have a standard 325mm masonry cavity wall, rendered outside to first floor level, but then want to change to a rendered timber frame on top (due to various reasons)

Both will be rendered to align on the outside but I can’t find any details that would be suitable. Without contacting knauf (or similar) has anyone done this? How does the timber frame fix on to the cavity? And how is the horizontal movement joint detailed between the 2??

Many thanks

James

on a conversion we rendered recently. there was a RSJ on the block work and the timber frame built on the RSJ. it would be best to fit a movement bead between the render carrier board and the block work. the render carrier board needs a thin coat system with an acrylic finish to both render board and render on block work.

Could it not just be meshed a then use ocr on the the render carrier board malc?

no ocr. the carrier board needs a thin coat system. the thin coat systems do give a very high quality finish even in side sun light.
