So the fish probably aren't arses about time of year and temperature etc but other than standing out in the cold is this time of year still good for getting the rod out. There is a small chance of getting out for a day on weekend but if fish are like birds and fly South for the winter is the much point

Don’t pike like this weather? I’m not a fishing man so I’d be crap at it.

You should not disregard proper fishing as it is all about water craft and a bit more skill to it than just thump and hope.

Treat it like an afternoon walk

I agree If you like it as a sport but I'm more for eating what you catch as long as it's tasty. If I had time for a hobby it would involve the gym

I fish for silvers in the winter great sport and a refreshing change after a summer of carp.

Pint of maggots sie 18/20 hook long pole or waggler!

Proper fishing!

Great time of the year for dangling a worm. You never quite know what you're going to get. In one afternoon I had Rudd, perch, roach and carp. Great fun.

Lovely fish. I've only got jacks in my place but they're still fun on small lures.
I used to love reading about the fishing on Loch Lomond. Never been but would like to some time.

last 2 monthly compititions I run won with pike of 20 .5 oz next same fish 19.15 oz just thought I try to create some interest on this page

That's a belting pike mate. Hopefully she won't get caught too often, they thrive on neglect more than any other fish don't they?

I had a 20 pounder over in loch carra in Ireland, love the big Irish lakes as they don't get fished to hard so could be anything down there. She was up on the surface and smashed the lure the second it hit the water, think it was a reaction cos it basically landed on her head

Those Irish loughs do look pretty damn wild. Great fish from any water a 20lber.

We had a house over there in mayo and there was a lake down the road about 3 or 4 acres big and no one fished it, I've had about 10 pike between 13lbs upto 18lbs had 3lbs search and trout out of it. You'd let a lure sink and it would go for ages...even a lake like that if love to know what was in it

Or third time lucky.
A 3lb perch lol
I do love perch, even the small ones.
Lol, I'm better at fishing than spelling....but only a bit. Same here, years of throwing a little mepps out when I was a nipper

Working on the carp now 16lb pb so would like a 20 next year....if I get anytime to get out...always say I'll go loads this year but time seems to be a bit like sand

Try not to get to caught up on the size thing with the carp mate. They're honestly no harder to catch than smaller ones. Well as long as there are big ones where you're fishing of course.

No not a monster hunter I like catching all fish, but still PBS always a bonus....8 20's in the lake I'm fishing currently

I'm possibly getting a ticket for a lake with a potential PB carp in. It'll be the first time in years I'd be in with a shout.
