just a trick of the light, love the speedskim makes it much easier and like the flexi , it takes much less pressure than using MT. only drawback was i ran out of tape so had to put bead on with gear,like going back to the stone age.
I can see how the one coat guys whack on so much.
i will be having a go at one coating as soon as i get some boards to skim.
might give @algeeman a run

The only use I’ve found for mine is hard trowelling out bubbles on re skims. Your hands look like Dot Cotton has been cryogenically frozen and semi defrosted for Eastenders 2099 Xmas special

I agree with the hand bit

that shite broke because I used it

that wouldn't hard trowel anything mate.

flatten your 1st coat skim twice before your 2nd coat to avoid bubbles/blisters

flatten as usual leave it 10 mins flatten again.

2nd coat there will be absolutely no blisters/bubbles what's so ever.

so easy to get perfect finish

I was re skimming a house from the 1300’s and the whole place was skim over blue grit, had some surfaces bubble and the plastic got them out. Only use I’ve had for it.

I just leave the pimples and tell that it's still not as rough as @John j 's plastering and to think themselves lucky.
Fuckknows how you get over grit with one coat, I sometimes struggle with two.

I often use it when i'm doing bathroom ceilings if not overboarding.

Ass covering I think Andy. Partly psychological that its going to sort out anything you may think could cause a problem. Zombie mix probably good for first coat, though I often don't.

When do you put the plastic on. Get two coat on. one trowel to flatten one whith a little water. Then plastic when it just gone off very lightly not to hard whith plastic. Trouble plastic makes them like mirror decorator not be happy

So I put on with a 14 Marshall town I then flatten with a 1200 speedskim then tidy up with my 18 my.

Bosh a tight second coat on then flatten off with 18 and let that all start firming up then I start to use the plastic.

The trick with the plastic is to use it 1 less than you think.

Mine dont shine up at all. Flat and Matt

Also I lay on neat so I dont really need to flatten in between coats but I do it purely because I have always done it and get consistent results
