Loads mate sponge up nice hp12Hi all
A guy told me a while back they never touch sand and cement render anymore.
He said they use HP12 for both coats as an alternative as it is easier to apply, achieve a flatter finish and it sponges up nice to give a texture.
Anyone on here done the same?

Not saying anything wrong with sand and cement. What I’m asking if it’s ever used as an alternative? Mainly because outside lights showing up imperfections, reduces the hairline cracking and easier to achieve a flatter finish.Nothing wrong with sand & cement.
Thanks mate, you use it as an alternative then It’s not a massive area so cost isn’t a real issue, just the achieving a flatter finish so when the outside lights go up it’ll look betterNothing wrong with sand & cement.
We've used it, as well as various other bagged renders and I honestly can't see how 'they' think they're any easier to apply and achieve a nice flat finish?Hi all

agree but the quality control on bulk bags of sand compared to pre bagged renders is night and day. never had issues with smaller pre bagged sand thoughNothing wrong with sand & cement.
I've never seen or experienced anything that would back up your claim.agree but the quality control on bulk bags of sand compared to pre bagged renders is night and day. never had issues with smaller pre bagged sand though
