Transit Custom

I've just had to have a new windscreen in mine 75quid, huge stone chip.
id really like to blame those bstards at Vauxhall for it but for a change i cant:mad:.

I went Vauxhall and ford main dealers got quoted vat down as deposit and rest on monthly installs ford tranny worked out at £390 a month and vivaro £320 a month both were top spec ,sportive ,cameras alloy's all the extras possible on both so knew would be paying more than say basic model one bit of advice though at Vauxhall dealers I went to 3 different ones got quoted on same spec and top monthly price was £375 and bottom one was £320, they worse than building trade for robbing folks

Through blind loyalty I've always bought fords, I guess that's what Ford want buyers to do remain loyal, 80% of panel vans that are sold each year are Ford, there are probably better vans about at better value that are better equipt, but I stick to what I know I guess.
I've currently got a 2009 transit I bought new,(on hp) a custom that I bought last year (paid for in full, cleared funds when I bought it) and I'm just ordering another long wheel base custom, top spec the limited version(that I'll pay half the balance down up front rest on hp) the van is around £20,000 plus vat,I think the repayments on that will be 280 a month plus vat, as said there all assets of the company, I also use the mrs car and claim mileage back through the business. I'm vat registered as well so that makes a lot of difference when buying stuff.

ive gone for the limited LWB @owls. Have you had any problems with your other custom? Watch the doors in the wind apparently! Recall on check straps. There's a quick fix for the water onto alternator too. They slap a piece of foam somewhere in the engine bay haha

I've had a few new vans on finance and found hp to be the best gregg
Fook leasing it I would say in our game but that's only my opinion.
I normally find getting private finance better that's these big company's
Get the finance in place and buy a local van[emoji106]

The other advantage to HP or outright purchase is that if the sh1t hits the fan you can sell the van and the payments end. If you're on a two years lease you're contracted to two years payment come what may.

The early ones were dogged with problems, fuel pump issues, abs problems etc but i think they've ironed them out now.
I had a recall for something to do with the brakes, some pin or something, that Ford did,a problem with the handbrake sticking on that Ford fixed aswell.it's a lad that works for me that drives it, I've only driven it about half a dozen times since I bought it to be honest . It will be one of the Euro 6 engines then 66 plate onwards there suppose to be 20% more fuel efficient than the 5.

I think it's pot luck really with new motors and I always find ford very good to deal with aswell as there customer service. I bought a nearly new Range Rover sport a few years ago for the mrs, paid a lot,and had nothing but problems with it, it was back and fro to the garage like a yoyo and there Customer service was appalling you'd think at that level there wouldn't be any issues.

I bought a new custom in limited spec a few months ago and I love it so far, mine is the 125bhp which is good but would imagine the 100 to be a bit sluggish. Test drove the transporter when I was deciding which van to buy and thought the custom was a lot nicer to drive and the seats were a lot more comfortable. Mpg isn't great yet at about 38 but I would expect that to go up a bit once the engine is worn in fully.

Same as mine John. Drove it back from Cardiff yesterday and it drives real nice :)

Mk6/7 Transits r plagued with rust, dunno about the new shape yet...
Transporter n Sprinter a bit too dear for me
New Renault Trafic has been punted for some good deals up this way

My life is just plastering/kids/Mrs so I like the idea of a Guy Martin van (RWD big turbo) for some kicks and giggles on a daily basis...

I'm planning on having the new traffic sport myself the garage in wolverhampton has some nearly new bargains I've read good reports on them and with 4 year warranty and roadside assistance it sells itself so I'm gonna change the habit of buying transits and try a Renault

I've seen the deals Renault are doing too, they are clearly playing hard ball as it's difficult to see how you could match those figures any other way. I believe they're even sticking 4 years interest free payments on a new one.

Yeh mate 0% over four years on a new one but the money saved on a nearly new (16) plate swings it for me personally as it would be a cash sale or large deposit anyway

Either way, it's a good deal.

I think the only thing that puts me off changing the Vivaro any time soon is that all the new vans have that high grille thing going on. There's not one I like the look of now, but it's a personal taste thing and at least it's saving me money by not wanting a new one. (y)
