i get it on supaflexs ....i have been using the same 18" refina supaflex to coat with for nearly 2 years...coats flat and fast.
i just use my thumbs every morning to pull back the corners.
and the rest is done with 18" mediflex.
i tried the speedskim on my last plot on a wall i knew the sun would hit.....i felt embaressed at around 4pm when the sun hit it after painted.
6 same plots facing same way.
only ropey wall was with speedskim.

I've got the mediflex do you flatten off with it or just final trowel
Watched a lad use a speedskim today and I couldn't help think it was an extra job that a tool has created. I'm not slagging them off Coz a lot of people swear by them but I couldn't help think if you had put it on neater it's done. He also had a mediflex think it was Refina, I had a flatten and didn't notice a difference and was told I'm using it at the wrong stage, which is fair enough he uses it, but again can't see it being any better than a trowel that is broke in. I'm gonna have a go at a final stage on a skim and see if there is a difference oh and just to add the slogan these companies have come up with is a cracker. I didn't notice it till it was said to me today but I've read it a few times, and it was as simple as "your stuck in the past". Lol it's a cracker.

They are good if the wall is in good shape after first couple of trowels. Main benefit is nice finish to wall and easier on worst and elbow than hard toweling with steel trowel. But if the walls to soft or if there are wee ribs or blisters it will just shine the wall and won't take them out. Only designed for final pass really, if it's in good shape I use it last two passes. If its bubbling etc I don't use it at all. Speedskim doesn't entertain me at all, don't see the point. But that's just my opinion...

My MT bent wrong way shortly after I got it, but hit it a few taps got it in good shape and it hasn't moved since. Only ever had problem like that when first start using them for some reason, or if it takes a bad fall. Still want to try a nela premium when I'm ready for a new trowel again.

Get a grip I'm sure people know what trowel I use I've mentioned it plenty of times, I've had two different trowels over the last five years or more. How come you never used a Refina if your so obsessed with trowels? Plenty of people praise a Refina trowel but you've never bothered.

Yeah I tap it out with a pointer, usually saves it unless it's while shape. (lost a couple bouncing them off floor in temper, no tapping could fix them) lol

It was an xtra lite and it was a great trowel but not happy with its durability at all.

My point on this op was you not got no substance to what you say about the trowels you mentioned. You said "think" about 3 times and "picked up a mediflex think it was a Refina" they are 2 different trowels mate so how the hell you can conclude anything is laughable , tbh we might as well go to a beginners one week training course and ask the students what they think actually using any of the trowels at least they would give a honest review of actually using them instead of just presumptuous rammle.

Or start a thread to tell the world to pack in plastering and become brick layers seeing as you hate everything about it that much.
I have been posting on plastering for over 15 years on forums giving plenty of good advise, you on the other hand have used the forums to promote for businesses based around plastering.
