Blacked up a new extralite for a mate using @Hicky method, @Cornelius asked for a pic of the underside. Once you go black you never go back
What's the black process ?
Nice job Olican. How much coke to vinegar mate?
What's the benefit of carbon to stainless steel? Sharper?
Diet Coke or normal? That's a carbon steel extralite soaked in coke and vinegar to create a forced patina ( a layer of black rust that stops orange rust forming)
How long did you soak it for?
Thanks I will give this ago while I've got the time off. Cheers.About a day and a half bud

Fook me Roy Orbison has let himself go.
Agreed.. it's like a load of old age plasterers are off work and got nothing better to do besides change the colour of there trowels admittedly black does look cool but imo a bit of black and other colours of the rainbow looks betterWhat difference does this make to your finish? If it's none, it's like them racer boys driving about with an exhaust on a 1.2 petrol fiesta that really should be on a spaceship.
Was soft when I held it and stickylol nothing to do with appearance this process, I guarantee any of you chaps if you felt my tool in your hand you would agree its the best you've felt
