I know Refina spec'd the Superf|ex 2 (0.4mm) a bit narrower than the Mk1, to make it feel a bit stiffer.

Some people still like the Mk1, but you'd need to bear that in mind if you're considering the BeroXpert flexi.

Plenty of fans of Ox Ultraflex, which is also narrow, but with 0.3mm thickness. Never really understood why they went that thin, and then made it narrow to compensate.

Long story short: The BeroXpert will be a very decent quality trowel, but you need to ask yourself whether you like a softer or stiffer feel to your flexi trowel.

I'm not keen on narrow trowels, so I like the full width Superf|ex 3 with relatively stiff 0.5mm steel.

The BeroXpert looks to be the same width as the Superf|ex 1 and Superf|ex 3.

....and I think that's more than enough nerdiness for one day!

I personally like mine slightly narrower.. I find it less strain in the wrist..

I guess I must have a fairly strong wrist, then, but I've no idea why :chica:

I prefer full width not so much for the feel of it (but you are right about narrower exerting less leverage against your wrist). My reason is mostly that I like having a wider contact area on the wall, for the sake of the plaster.

Most people only use the edge, well first 5-10mm of the face of the trowel. You can see that quite clearly by the state of their trowels. Personally I'm like you and generally like to have more contact on the wall/ceiling.

Haven't used it yet .may be crap .but it's a beautiful thing. With that flash of red. And cork handle. It's definitely trowel porn.

No we're definitely all mental.

For any of you who didn't realise:

when Andy says "we're", he's referring to the voices in his head.

and yes - they are "definitely all mental" :sisi:
