Ok let's not start getting personnel , if your not happy with the product then that's fine and your also entitled to your opinion on this , but let's keep it friendly, ;)

Jimfish you have to expect some criticism when you come onto an open forum and start advertising products, if you prefer not to receive any comments then we can remove the thread , that's not a problem , and you are welcome to carry on posting as long as it is not to promote your own products , if you wish to run an advert then contact admin
Ok warrior i can take the criticism thanks for that comment lets get serious on this topic i invented developed patented this tool found a manufacturer and distributer all parts of this design are british made i myself come from an engineering back ground but the point is this i was made redundant after 31 years at the same company because the steel works i was at closed down well what happened was i was in the press on a well known tv show local press for this started my own company in this recession designed and developed that tool went to college gained qualifications for bricklaying plastering tiling cscs reg cpcs regs water drainage and sanitation regs plumbing domestic central heating and upvc glazing so on. this countrys major tool company wanted to manufacture it and sell it pay me a percentage and make me rich but when they told me it was going to china to be made i walked out on them in disgust found my own manufacturer all the parts are sourced locally the handle the plate packaging now if it sells well look at the jobs it would create locally in my community so all you plasterers who have negatively commented on it without even trying it take a step back and think thank you.

i see what your saying is wreck your back by lifting a 2 bag mix uo on to a platform so you can go backwards and forwards with a trowel full yea right

I have just seen the vid it looks like a lot of hard work, I still would prefer a hawk and spotboard as it is less bending and my back already hurts with out all that extra bending. Even if you just used a bucket trowel and hawk you can get 3 times as much on a hawk saving you 3 trips to the bucket so with that "I'm Out" ;D
Raise the bucket up onto the work plaform no bending is needed thanks.Think of the weight still left on your hawk once you youve took off the first float.
By the way how do you load your spot 2 bag mix in a bucket on the floor dont ya lift anything then

[bag opener, floor scraper, oh no it wont work for that. bugger i was gonna order loads and go round sites selling them oh well. ;)

I did not want to call it the hawk the original name was the kestrel because its a small hawk name was changed because there are to many kestrel products out there.

I think it definitely has its uses and looks better than a bucket trowel though nothing new about the concept, Dutch brick trowels are a simmilar shape so you can get the gear out of the bucket, shame the manufacturers website cant give a price or an outlet without phoning them.
Lucius.

if i see one for a tenner i will have one as i can never get that last bit out of a bucket and it all builds up on the bottom of my cleaning bucket. It wont replace my hawk but it might for the last scrapings in my bucket.when doing domestics i never have the room for a spot board unless it goes on top of the TV or bedside cabinet so i have to always feed from a tub.well done Jim good effort

Hello lucius the concept is different to the dutch brick trowel because it has two square back edges for cleaning off the bottom surface of a float trowel also the plate is flat and unobstructed with no welded handle at the back central to the blade the handle is attached by rivets on the underside giving a smooth deliverance of material onto your float gauge or tilers trowel hence the name trowelhawk as for the manufacturers they have a distrubution network set in placetry Link Removed link hope this has been some help( jimfish)

The thing is jimfish a Kestrel is a falcon & not a hawk?
Did you research that when you where looking into the name?
I'm sure dragons den would have pulled you up on that one mate!

A small hawk is a sparrowhawk but could you imagine that on site,
pass the sparrowhawk lad ;D

im not much into falconry but i do know that a kestrel is fast and efficient where the hawk is big and awkward but there both good at hunting prey.

The Kestrel is slightly bigger than a Male sparrowhawk which is a fast agile hunter.
You could have used the scientific name of the sparrowhawk. ;D

True story:
The game Subbuteo was named after a hobby a medium sized bird of prey,
it's scientific name is falco subbuteo.
The bloke was going to call the game hobby but was told it's too generic a name to be copyrighted.
But a friend told him there's a bird of prey called a hobby why not name your game after it's scientific name. ;)

That is some quality useless information there nisus i love useless information QI is good for that Ireland is the biggest exporter of bananas and iceland is the biggest grower QI told me so :D
