Uber, Checkatrade, MyBuilder etc.

I have seen it first hand doing the knowledge but gave up because uber have destroyed the black cab trade

Destroyed come on, is it just not good old competition.

I've never used über btw and would always prefer to jump into a black cab, it's keeping up with the times my friend as they say if you snooze you lose.
Black cabs should have been more pro active on the online app front

Black cabs had an app long before uber trouble is their fares are set by transport for London

It's very simple though, with uber you work on a self employed basis, if you/they don't like it don't do it, it's very simple really.
I know why you are defending them. It's because you work for Uber don't you? You drive at night after plastering in the day? Why don't you just say that in the first place.

Uber set there fees for the service they provide. Checkatrade etc don't they just supply there leads.

They are having their pants pulled right down

Even if they aren't now, it's a very old tactic. Supermarkets did it back in the day, Japanese car and bike manufacturers did it in the '60s and '70s. Even the much beloved BG did it.

Move in to an area or market, sell the product cheaper than the competition and pay the staff more than the competition. Buy up any attractive cometitors at a bargain price as their profits are dropping. Competition drops away to an insignificant level, or moves into a niche sector. Then drop the wages, cut overheads and ramp up the prices because there's no where else for customers to go.

Then the customers and the competition are :bananas:

1ts not competition when its not a level playing field

They aint their drivers they just provide the app

But they dictate what there drivers/clients what ever you want call them charge for the service they supply?
So that's where the big difference is and not the same as mentioned in the thread.

Its just ageneral minicab rate but because a lot of them dont no where they are going can cost more than been qouted and its taken straight from your bank then uber take 24% based on what you were charged bit like the cost of a lead
