Hi all,
Stuart is correct, we are currently trialling a new version of the Uni-Finish product and this trial period will involve extensive testing before we send it to market.
We’re keen to keep you updated on this testing and will let you know more as soon as we can. If you’d like to try it out when it’s ready then please let us know. We’re also speaking to Danny about a Plasterers Forum group trip to see us.

instead of ******* about with an already failed product, why not get multi finish to work as good as it used to and half the price of it and make us all happy !Hi all,

@BritishGypsum Does this mean that when you put it to market the first time and it failed, it hadn't been tested properly ?Hi all,

its a shame really cos knaufs finish is better by a country mile but you just cant buy it anywere and i can see what @Runswithscissors is saying about getting our own supply set up and if enough people do it then it will be more common, but most of our jobs and supplied for us and if there not its just easy to stop anywhere and pick up the readily available multi, but if i went somewhere and there was a choice of multi or mp i would take mp everyday.
rumors spread like wildfire in the building game and if knauf had the guts:RpS_sneaky: could present bg with a serious problem and some proper competiton once builders realised it went alot further that multi they would love it and once spreads realised how nice it is to use they 2 would buy it, thus forceing bg to sort there shite out.
but alas knauf are pussy wussies

Hi J*Ace
There will be interested eyes on this post.....
I will ensure that the right people also read you post as well..... But as you point out (and I have said many times before), it is a supply and demand situation - if the users demand it and use it the dealers will stock it!
if the end users demanded that the dealers stock a particular brand (and then buy and use it!) the dealers will be more than happy to stock and sell what the users ask for...... the "Pussy Wussies" will happily assist in selling the product into the dealers if the users want it - refer to Penlaws in Essex, some of the guys wanted to try it, so we spoke to Penlaws and they took it in to help out....
Get in touch with you local "Pussie Wussie" contact (or get in touch with me with you contact details and location - [email protected]) and we will try to help you out with supply.
Hay - there will be merchants and distributors reading this post, if they are interested in tapping into the MP market demand via TPF, they can get involved themselves....
Good Luck Guys
Hi Runwithscissors,
But surely the overriding problem is that bagged plaster is a perishable product so builders merchants will not invest there own money into a product that they may get stuck with if it doesn't sell.
To them there is no incentive as a plasterer will buy a bag of finish be it bg or not regardless.
This is surely where you as a business need to look at breaking the cycle being BY going head to head with competitor!!!!!!!!!!!
BY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1) Offering better payment terms or at least as good as bg to building suppliers along with promotional incentives etc.
2) Ensure the building suppliers that you will be refund/collect any bags about to expire use by date/ expired/credit in full.
3) Marketing! Marketing Marketing as below!
A )Making the end user aware the benefit of more m2 coverage ££££
B) Making end user aware reference the ability to increase ouput per set
C) Ease of decoration
I just don't get it these are basic, basic, basic business models tried and tested to potentially tap into a massive market share I mean come on theres only yourselves and bg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Employ me for 6 months and give me a reasonable budget and I could genuinely do it!!!
It just needs motivated staff with incentives!!!!
Zombie
Your not wrong Zombie....
There are lots of factors involved.....
Like I said - there will be people reading....
Oh - And Airbourne is similarly correct!
unlike your spelling of Airborne.............................:RpS_wink:
