Defo give it a go if it was cheaper bnq 11:50 a bag pallet still sitting there about 5 bags gone jewsons ,selco and travis by me said they won't stock it because of last lot of problems they had

Just a thought can uni be used on its own ie boards, moisture boards and everything multie does including pregrit and skim?

Just to add also sand and cement? So this gear is exactly the same as multie but in some cases no need for a pre grit primer or pva? @BritishGypsum

Hi @flynnyman, moisture boards are not a problem for UniFinish so it would be perfect. On the subject of sand and cement it would depend on the age. If newly applied then not a problem, if its old then it’s very likely it would pull in too much so would not be ideal. Hope that helps!

Is the magic ingredient ground unicorn horn in this stuff hence uni finish?? Would be a much better headline than Tesco's pathetic horse burgers stunt???

I loved the mine tour by the way especially the land rover defenders and the even more impressive underground vehicles like out of the origional Captain Scarlett. I hope there is another one soon but id have to go in disguise ??

We're looking into it Marshy! And although first timers would get preference, you might get points if you disguise yourself as Captain Scarlett :)

That sounds like a dare to me ? Id have to do it but clean shaven?? Plus i cant do a Cary Grant impression (if your old enough you will get that)

Why don't you answer the main question, why it's twice the price? That's what members want to know. There's a whole pallet in my local b and q that's untouched. It's already a month out of date. Said they might let me have it cheap in a fortnight if nobody was buying it. He said the main reason it wasn't shifting was the price

Dont you dare go pissing in my Captain Scarlett bubble yoing man !! :cachetada:

I've noticed that in the times they've bothered to reply they don't actually answer any questions it just sounds like generic PR speak...we've noticed a problem and we are working on it.

Not "your right our bags are shite and we're having new machines fitted in jan but there really expensive and we don't have the budget til then. We did try selling uni at twice the price but sales are 10% of what we expected"

I could appreciate that answer

Does anyone think that possibly in the future they will sack off multi and board finish and just have uni? It does cover most things without much hassle or confusion

Thought the same myself, and maybe that's what @British gypsum thought originally too. But seem to have backed right off with it.

In theory.... it makes complete sense. One finish plaster, that most of the time doesn't need any pva etc.

I know they don't have control over how much the merchants sell it for, but wonder how much they sell it too the merchants for? How much % more than multi, for example. Be interesting to see who's actually overpricing it, are they really selling it to places for double the price of the multi?

I didn't mate no. It was out of date and they wouldn't discount it. Speaking to Alan on the counter he said the same as most on here that it wasn't shifting because it was too expensive. Said another spread said it was deffo worth it for painted Artex to save on peregrine or hanging about
