When i wrote our blog for BG i said that it feels weird not sealing it first but once its on its great, definitely worth a try

Used uni today, got there 8.30 sheeted up, had mix on at 9.05, only first coat uni then multi second coat, once id put second coat on the two ceilings I was doing pva'd the 3rd one, pva took about 1.15 to be ready so would have spent that time hanging around waiting in the morning, 3rd ceiling done as normal...saved 1 hour 15 mins at a cost of £4.62...happy with that. Gear seemed fine, a few of those little white bits but nothing else

Did I read that right, pva took 1 hour 15 mins to be ready? Was it a sheet of glass you was plastering?

I have used it on two occasions both times it hung around for ever on artex ceilings and on Matt painted walls it went off like a rocket so it's not for me or my customers. I'll stick to pva and multi and whilst I'm at it I will continue to point out to others that it is not what some people who seem to have a vested interest in it make it out to be.

Not at all, when people post b*ll***s it needs addressing. The is a plasterers forum which by in large means it's a place of men but I do wonder sometimes.

Do yous more or less all use thistle multi etc? Have used multi a Few times, though last time I used it, seemed to have lost quality and sats a lot longer than when I had used it several years before. I prefer the gypsum Ireland carlite finish or ultra finish. Haven't seen skimcoat in a few years now, mustnt be big demand for it up this end.
 
ive got four bags of uni I'm gonna use tomorrow they are in date, I'm gonna use them on board. I've heard it hangs around if there is no suction so rather than put the one ceiling on I'm gonna put the two on. Im not prepared to take the gamble without prep so gonna see what the gear is like on this so we will see, if it fucks up be prepared and a certain member can f**k off it he thinks it's down to skill. I usually won't take the gamble but I keep getting called on the fact I've not used it so I'm gonna tomorrow. If it goes pear shaped I will kick myself but I will also kick BG to death and its main voice xx
