Over the years I've seen all different sizes of trowels used, but I've yet to find anybody do a faster job with a big trowel than a decent spread using an 11" working in an organised manner. From what I've seen and experienced myself speed of hand is what makes a fast plasterer not the size of his trowel. I've seen plenty of people with knackered wrists and elbows from big trowels though.

this is true pal ye
...it spans more area of ya wall when trowel up thats all...i use whicheva takes my fancy....each to their own..aslong as the finish is spot on...who cares trowel ya use.. ;D

An old jedi plastering master once told me "you have to slow down to speed up" and he used an 11" all the time, got bloody loads on but looked like he was just taking it in his stride. (took me ages to suss what he meant about slowing down to speed up mind you ;D)

11" wud be far too small for me pal...but like i sed..each to there own.as long as the finish is mint ;D

so whats u blade of choice bumhair?
size?

13" Marshall matey, used to prefer the old Tyzack but the ones they are knocking out at the mo are not to good in my opinion, the last one i had ended up like a banana after a couple of weeks.

neva tried a tyzac pal...ill hav 2 get one..
to be honest ive always stuck to the marshalltown's....its all ive known really.
the tyzacs cheaper i take it???..or?...........ive got a 13" marsh town, but i use it for dotting
anyhow hows work for ya bud..plenty on?

i ot a 18" m/t last week use it for flattening of on large board areas works well,it is quicker..

if its big you want refina do massive skim spatulas you could finish the wall before you start it

Please would as many of you as possible keep slagging of the perma shape trowels, hopefully then fewer will sell and the price will drop making them cheaper for me!
