using A DARBY?

Does anyone use a plasterers aluminium darby when finishing walls or ceiling for quickness or coverage anymore ?????

I don't use a darby for anything but I do occasionally use a feather edge to straighten up the skim coat on dodgy boardwork, usually on ramp ceilings.
